Yesterday and today, I started my walk at 5:30 am. I don’t usually start that early. I am taking care of my grandchildren these two days. They have a school holiday. It will be hard to get my ten miles in if I don’t start early.
At 5:30 am it is still dark and there is very little traffic on High Ridge Road. I am even able to walk on the road. Which is nice as the road is freshly paved compared to the bumpy sidewalks.
At 6:00 Stamford wakes up. Traffic picks up on High Ridge Road. I notice the transit buses have a few people on them and the sky start to lighten.
Yesterday in downtown I saw the DSSD staff cleaning and getting downtown Stamford to look good. The coffee shops were starting to get busy.
Today I walked up to the Merritt Parkway on High Ridge. It was quiet until about 6:45. At that point I could hear the steady hum of traffic on the Merritt Parkway.
Tomorrow I will let you know what traffic is like when school is in session.
