Welcome to Stamford by Foot

Where is the best walking place in Stamford? I suppose it depends. Do you want to see Water? The Beach.  An Urban area.  There are numerous great places in Stamford to walk and I have walked many of them.

I am Layne Rodney and I have been walking in Stamford for years.  Last year when the lockdown started, I increased my walking to more than ten miles a day on a good day. I have found with the right equipment that snow and rain will not stop me.  Since then, I have been all over Stamford and the neighboring towns by foot.

Stamford is a great and diverse town for living and walking.  When I come home from walking, I always have so much to tell my family. Such as there is a glacier pothole off Stillmeadow Road.

I have decided to share what I see, hear, and experience on my walks around Stamford by starting a blog.  The blog will be called “Stamford by Foot”

The starting point is Loveland Road.  Loveland Road is located off High Ridge Road by the Rippowam Campus.  It is a great location, and it helps to have the High Ridge bus 331 there.  Taking the bus sometimes allows me to extend my walking range.

My first observation is, there is a lot of water and rocks in and around Stamford.  I am going to call Stamford the City of Rock and Water

I hope you enjoy reading the blog and if you have a favorite walk or experience please feel free to contact me.
